Pre-Bid Preparations Ramp Up for New CISD Projects

Carroll ISD Walnut Grove Elementary School / Rockenbaugh Elementary School Additions and Renovations

Pre-bid preparations ramped up this week for upcoming Carroll ISD projects as REEDER invited Subcontractors to attend a Pre-Bid Agenda Meeting & Tour that began at Walnut Grove Elementary School and ended at Rockenbaugh Elementary School.

In preparation for our upcoming bid day, scheduled for December 5, 2019, potential Subcontractors and Vendors were invited to tour the two elementary schools to see how the addition and renovation plans will transform each facility. Representatives from the Project Team, which included the Architects from Natex Corporation Architect and LPA Design Studios; John Haugen, Carroll ISD’s Construction Manager; and Mike Miller, Superintendent of Facility Services; explained the procurement process and answered project and procurement questions.

Are you a quality Subcontractor or Vendor that would like to join our team of professional builders? Visit the Subcontractor page on our website.

We look forward to receiving your bids!

CISD Aquatics Center Renovation

REEDER Construction Renovates CISD Aquatics Center

It’s not every day you get to rebuild an Olympic-size pool and aquatics center!

Our constraint with this job was time. The owner could only shut down the facility for 60 days but needed to incorporate more than $4 million of improvements including the refinishing of the massive one-million-gallon pool, all new equipment, new diving platforms, and decking; and renovation of locker rooms and much more.

While it was not the largest project we did this year, it was definitely one of the most challenging. Projects like these push our dedicated staff to do what seems impossible. Thanks to an amazing team who didn’t take a single day off for two months, we were able to meet our client’s goals and schedule. Cheers to you guys for #BuildingOnPurpose!

About Carroll ISD Aquatics Center

The natatorium was built in 2001 as a joint-use facility between the City of Southlake and the Carroll ISD. It is home to the Carroll High School Dragons swimming and diving teams, competing with UIL 5A schools – the largest schools, as well as the North Texas Nadadores (NTN) swim team,  and is a state-of-the-art training and competition facility for swimming and diving.

But this is more than just a competition facility. The Aquatics Center offers a variety of classes including water aerobics, swim lessons, and scuba lessons. It meets Olympic requirements and can host official 50-meter swimming race events. The pool can also be divided to run two 25-meter courses. The pool also meets the Olympic depth requirements for competition diving and can be configured for a variety of water polo courses, including the regulation size for FINA, the international federation recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for administering international competition in water sports.

The Aquatics Center has amazing features such as a UV disinfection system that kills organics in a pool, making the water safe for all competitors and reducing the need for high levels of chlorine; transitory bulkheads that help rapidly shape competitions courses; and a state-of-the-art Colorado Time Systems electronic timing and scoring system that provides exceptional precision for measuring the time of the competitors.

Thank you to the Carroll Independent School District for choosing REEDER! Our purpose is not just to renovate a great pool, but to provide opportunity for, and add value to the lives of the people we work with. Enjoy your new digs!
