REEDER in the News: Fort Worth ISD pairs aspiring engineers, architects with industry professionals

FORT WORTH, Texas – Fort Worth ISD gave its students the opportunity to help them chart their paths.

The school district on Wednesday gave some aspiring engineers and architects from across the district a chance to get a jump start on their futures.

High school senior Joel Rodriguez designed and created a school-themed box for protecting his class ring.

“Right now, I’m just taking the engineering class they are providing us. Last year, I took engineering essentials,” he said.

Rodriguez is just one of many Fort Worth ISD upperclassmen getting a jump on their futures in architecture, engineering and construction.

From resumes to tips on how to prepare for interviews, several North Texas firms are providing the students with what to expect when seeking positions.

“In college, I would like to do more specific type of engineering, architectural engineering. But I am going to major in civil engineering and do a minor in architect,” said senior Kennedy Ball.

Some have a game plan while others are testing the waters.

REEDER Volunteers For Fort Hood Soldiers

Just when we think opportunities to serve our troops can’t get any better, we get invited to a volunteer event like the Ben Hogan Classic at Fort Hood.

The REEDER team was honored to attend a military appreciation event this past Thursday and Friday,  April 25 and 26, 2019. According to, Fort Hood Lieutenant General Paul Funk, ” the Ben Hogan Classic at Fort Hood was the best appreciation event done on the base each year.” Given that there are over a hundred events each year at Fort Hood to honor our military, this is a very powerful statement.

Thursday, we arrived for a special session of tactical training, ending the evening with a welcoming dinner, drinks, and music where Commanding General Funk gifted Wes Reeder with a coin—a very special honor.

Wes served as an ambassador and welcomed the soldiers to the classic, while the rest of the REEDER team passed out gifts, served breakfast and volunteered during the tournament to make sure the soldiers could enjoy a stress free and beautiful day of golf. It’s the least we could do to honor these amazing men and women who so proudly serve our great nation.

It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to say “thank you” to so many of our soldiers for their service to our country. Thank you to the Ben Hogan Foundation for the invitation. We will see you next year!

REEDER Hosts Open House to Welcome Industry Partners

REEDER Construction proudly hosted our first Open House in our new building in the City of Westworth Village on February 21, 2019.

It was a great turn out and we met and reconnected with many of our industry partners. We had a Tex-Mex theme with margaritas provided by  Firefighter Margaritas, a nacho bar from QDOBA, and sweets from the local, Vending Nut Company, as we discussed future growth and partnership opportunities while touring our new office space. We even had our own race car make an appearance!

REEDER Attends NTFSA Vendor Fair

REEDER Construction is proud to have been part of the 2019 North Texas Facilities Services Association (NTFSA) Vendor Fair. It was one of the biggest in several years and generated more funds for scholarships and member activities than ever before.

The fair took place at Birdville ISD Thomas Coliseum on Thursday, January 17, 2019 and was attended by NTFSA members and nonmembers. We started setting up at 10 a.m. and the fair began at 11 a.m. Business Development, Chauncey Willingham, Sr Project Manager, Tanner Whitson, and Superintendent, Rod Addington worked our booth, which was complete with giveaway items. Lunch was provided by Babe’s Chicken and attendees dined in the gym so we could continue to interact with members in the booth area.

A big thank you to Bill Barrow, Energy and Projects Manager at Birdville ISD and Jennifer DuPlessis, Executive Director of Operations at Wylie ISD for coordinating this vendor fair – thank you! We look forward to attending more events this year and connecting with more facility managers.
