Birdville Elementary School Update

We are on schedule to top out block by the end of the month. We installed half the MEP and we are ready to begin hanging sheetrock.

There’s a slight schedule delay due to the rain and freezing temperatures, but our subs have worked extremely hard to gain those days back. We would specifically like to recognize J&E Masonry who has been a tremendous help on this project.

Now that we are looking at a good stretch of clear weather, we should gain even more days back.

Amazing Support for Dallas Police

Last July, we watched in horror as law enforcement personnel wereambushed and killed in downtown Dallas. Hours later, we would learn that five police officers had lost their lives.

After only six months, Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings announced that private donations raised $10 million. Assist the Officer and The Dallas Foundation created trusts for the families. They will help the nine officers injured in the attack.

Donations ranged in size from $5.00 to $250,000, and came from all 50 states, Australia, the United Kingdom and Italy.

At the same time, WFAA-TV reported that the New York-based Tunnel to Towers Foundation raised more than $600,000 for the five families, and will pay off their mortgage or give them money to buy a home.

We are proud to be a part of this wonderful North Texas community, and we continue to keep all the families in our thoughts and prayers.

Update on Frisco Warehouse and Maintenance Addition

Here’s a brief update on a facility we’re constructing for the City of Frisco. Hey, we’re paying for these aerial photographs so we might as well use them!

This is a 20,880 SF warehouse and maintenance addition. Currently, we are prepping, paving, installing underground utilities and building slabs. I’d like to thank Reeder Project Manager Keith Melton. Additionally, his crew for their hard work. Lastly, we should have this project completed by August 2017.

New YMCA Coming to Southeast Fort Worth

We were happy to see the headline announcing the ceremony for a new YMCA facility. It will be in southeast Fort Worth.

Therefore, the 35,00 SF facility will feature a full gymnasium with walking track, a pool and a large preschool. Additionally, it will have a wellness area, dedicated youth space, as well as a demonstration kitchen. Lastly, located at the corner of Mitchell Blvd and Moresby St, we expect it to be complete by spring 2018.

Reeder General is a big fan of the YMCA and all they do for our communities. From mentoring classes to swim lessons to adult programs and after school programs – we appreciate their mission of putting “… Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.”
